Hello!
That was a CRAZY 50 DAYS – wasn’t it!
Together, we accomplished SOOOO much!
THANK YOU to each and every one of you!
We hope you were able to get your comments into the park by yesterday’s deadline. THANK YOU to those of you who have shared your comment letters with us! We will be adding them to the website as quickly as we can! If you want to share yours with us, please email it to us at info@chwha.org.
So, what do we DO now?
For starters, PLEASE take a moment to say THANK YOU to Governor Doug Burgum, Sarah Otte Coleman, our ND Tourism Director and our North Dakota state and federal legislators that stepped up to advocate WITH us to keep the Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horses right where they are! You can use this link to send your message: https://www.mobilize.us/chwha/event/549484/
If you have not seen Governor Burgum’s press conference from Monday, it is a MUST SEE! You can view it here: https://fb.watch/inK2U4TBFB/
Our North Dakota legislators have entered Senate Concurrent Resolution 4014. The senate hearing is expected to be next week. Since this resolution is expected to pass easily – possibly unanimously, please don’t bog down our legislators’ emails asking them to support something they already do! We already had this Call to Action early on in the last 50 days. They have already answered this call. THAT is why we have this resolution The thank you email link above is a good way to keep this current for everyone.
There will also be an opportunity for you to enter your online comments to our North Dakota legislators. We will let you know when the comment period opens for this resolution and where to enter you comments. Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates will also be there to testify on behalf of these amazing horses!
There are also A LOT of other things we are working on and other organizations we are working with! Watch for some NEW Calls to Action to be coming soon!
Of course, we are ALL watching and waiting for Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s response to Governor Burgum and North Dakota’s state and federal officials. We will let you know as soon as we hear anything!
For today, take a breath. Pat yourself on the back. We made it through this part of the process. ALL of you did a GREAT job! THANK YOU!
Please understand, this fight is far from over. There is still A LOT of work to be done. We hope these horses can continue to count on you as we continue to literally Fight for the Spirit of the Badlands.
PLEASE keep sharing our posts! It helps get this information out to people who may not know what is happening in our little corner of Southwestern North Dakota.

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home! We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control. Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans. We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
