Following SCR 4014 3/2/2023

We have a committee hearing for the North Dakota House of Representatives!

The Agriculture Committee will be holding their hearing on Friday March 10, 2023 at 9 am!  You can now submit testimony online to them here: https://ndlegis.gov/legend/committee/testimony/public-testimony/2804/?hearing=6511

You have to upload your comment as a pdf or txt file on the site by 8 am on  March 10th

We have also added a link on our page that you can submit testimony to.  We will be printing off all of the testimony we have received and taking it with us to the North Dakota State Capitol Building when we testify next Friday.  We will also be submitting it as part of our online testimony and sending your comments to Congressman Armstrong.  You can send us your comments here: https://secure.everyaction.com/UjcKwEYRSkO-TDc6OfAXMQ2

This comment period is different than the one that Theodore Roosevelt National Park held.  This resolution is in favor of keeping the horses IN the park.  Our comments will be in support of this resolution.  What your comment should include:

  1. You are asking our ND legislators to support the resolution to keep the horses in the park
  2. Let them know why, but know that they are not necessarily looking for scientific data like the park insisted on.  If you DO have that information, please share it.
  3. You comment can be as long or as short as you like.  We are asking that more than anything PLEASE COMMENT! You DO NOT have to live in North Dakota to comment!

Once this committee hears testimony, they will vote and give it a “DO PASS” or “DO NOT PASS” and then it will go to the ND House floor for a vote.

The next step after this passes is for it to go to the ND Secretary of State who will distribute it according to the wording in the resolution!

Thank you again to all of you who helped make this moment happen!  Isn’t it exciting to watch this resolution in action as it moves through our legislative process?!

Feel free to email us at info@chwha.org or send us a PM on Facebook if you have any questions.

There will be a video link where you can view the live committee hearing or a recording.  We will share those links when we have that information!

Thank you again for your support!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
