Monday

Hello and Happy Monday to everyone!

Who else feels like Stallion Guardian in this picture on the Monday AFTER the daylight savings time shift?

We spoke with the ND House Minority Leader regarding SCR 4014.  It should be voted on this week, and we will keep you posted on its progress!

Once the resolution passes, it will be sent to the ND Secretary of State who will distribute copies to the Secretary of the Interior, NPS Director Sams and our ND federal delegates.  Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates will then take all of the letters we received from you and send them along with our weekly response to Congressman Armstrong.  Our Call to Action to send Congressman Armstrong is still active!  Over 100 emails have been sent to him asking him to support the wild horses stay in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Have you sent yours?  You can send it easily at this link: https://secure.everyaction.com/Rg-lK-HiAkSz6nxuYsiKmw2

Congressman Armstrong has yet to join North Dakota’s Governor Burgum, Senator Kevin Cramer, Senator John Hoeven, The United Tribes of North Dakota, Our North Dakota State legislators and so many others who are in favor of keeping the wild horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Congressman Armstrong has held fast to his original statement that he made in December of 2022 after Theodore Roosevelt National Park made their announcement to eliminate ALL of the wild horses from the park:

“I support Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s management plan,” he said in a statement. “They have done the research and will make the best decision based on science so future generations can enjoy the park. These are tough decisions, but emotion cannot outweigh what is best for long-term sustainability.”

We will email his office again this week with all of your comments that we have collected over the last few weeks.  If you want to send us your comment, please email it to us at info@chwha.org.

We will continue to keep you posted on the movement of SCR 4014 through the ND House and also on Congressman Armstrong’s response to our email this week.

The wild horses of TRNP have gotten A LOT of support since the park’s announcement in December, but they are NOT safe yet!  Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is working hard to make sure these horses stay wild and free.  Please help support our advocacy work!  There are ways you can help listed on our website: https://chwha.org/support-chwha/

Thank you for your support and have  GREAT week!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.

  1. Someone posted a link that would allow me to send a comment to Congressman Armstrong. The link does not work for me, perhaps because I am in Missouri. Could you post that link again? Thanks!!
