Call to Action

In 12 days, we will be in Washington DC for the 2nd Annual Save Our Wild Horses Conference!

Did you know that Saturday, April 22nd is Earth Day

AND

April 26th is National Help a Horse Day?

While we are in Washington, DC, we plan on meeting with as many of our federal legislators as possible.  We are still setting up appointments and plan to spend April 26th – “Lobby Day” seeing as many members of Congress as possible!

There are several ways that you can help make our trip even more impactful!

One way is EASY!

Send postcards!

Our friends at Save Our Wild Horses have information about a postcard campaign on their website: https://saveourwildhorses.net/2023-postcard-campaign.html.  We also had special postcards made for the TRNP wild horses.  They are FREE and if you want, we will even send them for you!  You can sign up for our postcard campaign here: https://secure.everyaction.com/_FHTeHpTOUG1Er7wwscTYw2

If you are mailing the postcards yourself, we ask that you send them to the following people:

NPS Director Sams
National Park Service
1849 C Street NW
Washington, DC 20240

President Joe Biden
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Washington, DC 20500

Congressman Kelly Armstrong
2235 Rayburn HOB
Washington, DC  20515

Secretary Deb Haaland
Department of the Interior
1849 C Street, N.W.
Washington DC 20240

We also ask that you send your own representatives a postcard to their Washington DC office, ESPECIALLY if your representatives are on the Senate Natural Resources Committee, specifically, the Subcommittee on National Parks (https://www.energy.senate.gov/national-parks) or the US House Natural Resources Committee, specifically, the Subcommittee on Federal Lands (https://naturalresources.house.gov/issues/issue/?IssueID=5063)

We have congressional aides trying to help us get appointments with people at the Department of the Interior.  Your postcards to them and our federal delegates will help emphasize the significance of the wild horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Can you help make our trip to Washington DC even more impactful?

Our postcards were just delivered TODAY because of our latest (and hopefully last!) blizzard of the season last week.  If you signed up already – THANK YOU!  Your postcards will be on their way!  Again, if you have not signed up, you can at this link:

Please consider helping support our advocacy work.  There is a lot we are working on and so much more that can be done.  As a nonprofit, we are limited by the support we get from people like you who love the TRNP wild horses.  There are several ways you can help on our website: https://chwha.org/support-chwha/

Thank you for your support and have a GREAT night!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
