Hello again!
You may have noticed that we revamped our donation page. Please have a look! We have decided to use BetterWorld to outline donation campaigns. We strongly believe that donors have the right to ask organizations that they donate to where their money is going. The way we have these campaigns set up; you can see from each different one exactly where your money is going. More than that, you can choose what aspect of our advocacy work that you want to support!
Please understand that we are not asking for money “just because” the Fight for the Spirit of the Badlands has grown into a bigger fight than we could ever have imagined. We are doing EVERYTHING we can to educate people, keep people engaged and spread the word about the current plight of our beloved wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home. We need your help if we are going to continue this fight.
As a 501(c)3 organization, we depend on your donations to continue our critical advocacy work. Any donation you make is 100% tax deductible!
We chose the BetterWorld sight because they use the same company to collect donations and for payouts as they do at Giving Hearts Day (Stripe). Our current Stripe account works for both platforms. They also send payments daily, where some platforms only send donations out monthly.
We have listed the current campaigns for you below. You can view them all on one page here: https://chwha.betterworld.org/
The newest campaign that we set up came from a phone call from one of our followers. They are willing to make a $1,000 donation to Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates IF we can raise $1,000 in matching funds! Can you help?
Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates will be utilizing our legal team at Eubanks & Associates to help us draft our comment letter on the Draft EA for the current October 25, 2023 deadline. With the possibility of litigation an option in the near future, we believe utilizing them again for this comment period will help us dot our “I’s” and cross our “T’s”! Please help us raise the money needed to help save the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park! We estimate this cost to be approximately $2,000. Can you help?
Please help us keep our Billboard up!
Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates had a Billboard installed on Interstate 94 visible to people heading West on I-94!
The cost for this billboard is $975 per month! We currently have enough funding to keep the billboard up through October!
This has proven to be a very effective way to grab the attention of people as they drive to Theodore Roosevelt National Park!
Can you help?
CHWHA has hired the environmental law firm of Eubanks and Associates to consult with us on next steps as we continue to Fight for the Spirit of the Badlands for the freedom of the just under 200 wild horses that call the park home!
The release of Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s Draft EA only strengthens our belief that this issue will end up in litigation.
As you can imagine, working with a law firm is costly, but we feel that the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park are worth every penny! Can you help?
Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour fundraising event that will take place on February 8, 2023! Last year we raised over $12,000 on Giving Hearts Day!
Our expenses have grown GREATLY over last year!
We HAVE to raise at least $3,000 in our matching fund to participate in Giving Hearts Day. This year, we have made our Giving Hearts Day goal $20,000!
Can you help us meet or exceed that goal?
On December 12, 2022, Theodore Roosevelt National Park announced their plans to eliminate the ENTIRE herd of horses from the Park! Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates has been leading the fight to save this iconic herd of wild horses from DAY 1!
On September 25, 2023, the Park came back with their Draft Environmental Assessment. The Park announced through their EA that they have NO INTENTION of keeping ANY horses in the Park!
Please consider making a donation to help support our critical advocacy work!
Your donation in this general fund will help us continue our work. Your donation may be used for: legal fees, to keep our billboard up, association fees, Zoom subscription, website fees, general office supplies – as just a few examples.
Thank you for your support!
We have A LOT of work to do to save this herd. Please make sure you comment, and we hope we can continue to count on you to support our critical advocacy work.
The wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park need each one of us to be their voice now more than ever!
