I Am Just One Voice

Hello and Happy Monday!

What a weekend it has been!  I know it has  been hard for everyone who loves the herd of horses from Theodore Roosevelt National Park to hear about the ongoing abuse of these horses.

What can we DO?

I want to say that I am ONLY one voice.  The strength of our organization truly comes from each one of you.  When our voices are united, that becomes ONE loud ROAR that is a lot harder for anyone to ignore. We have all learned that first hand during this process!

There are a few things we are working on as far as Calls to Action regarding the information we have just received. We will share more soon.

One thing we have been asked is HOW do we get the NATIONAL press involved.  I have contacts with reporters from different media outlets across the state of North Dakota.  I HAVE contacted them and have already had some interviews.  The question is HOW do we get attention from the media beyond the state of North Dakota?

I am finalizing the packets I will pass out in Washington DC next week.  Once I have them completed (later today) I will create a link on our website for media.  You will be able to either direct media to this page or download/print out and forward to EVERY media outlet in the country.

I can contact them myself – but again, I am just one voice.  If HUNDREDS or even THOUSANDS of us contact national media outlets, they will hopefully see the interest in the story and want to learn more.

We have another organization who has shared their media list with us! We will be getting that list together for everyone soon! Once I have a list of contacts and our media section set up, I will make a post here and a Call to Action for everyone.

Next, we have a NEW Call to Action today.  We have developed a petition DEMANDING that the National Park Service IMMEDIATELY stop using GonaCon on the wild horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park!  We have a few days before I leave for Washington DC.  If we get enough signatures, I will include this in our packet and share it with the National Park Service and Department of the Interior offices in Washington DC.  Please help share this link! https://secure.everyaction.com/1oIlqHkuUUStdjb0KjsiXg2

Lastly, we had a Call to Action over the weekend asking that you submit questions to Theodore Roosevelt National Park through their wild horse portal.  Details are in this blog post: https://chwha.org/2023/04/15/call-to-action-3/.  Again, I am ONE voice.  I submitted my questions.  Have you?

As we said, we have more we are working on, so be sure to check back. You can also subscribe to our website on our home page to be alerted when we make a new post: https://chwha.org/

Thank you for your continued support.  Please consider making a donation to our organization to help support this critical advocacy work!  There are a number of ways you can donate listed on our website: https://chwha.org/support-chwha/

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.

  1. I was shocked to hear that they have been sterlizing the herds with drugs to keep the numbers down. It made me just sick.
