Hello and Happy Monday to everyone!
We can’t talk enough about how AMAZING, educational, and informative the 2nd Annual Save Our Wild Horses Conference is!
One of the best parts is the ability to speak to so many well-known advocates!
Last night was one of those nights!
Some of you may have noticed that during the FIRST comment period last March/April, the park shared in their Civic Engagement meeting report comments from Western Watershed Project that seemed to NOT be in favor of keeping the horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
I had the opportunity to personally meet and speak with Eric Molvar from Western Watershed Project at dinner last night. I discussed what the park shared in their 2022 Civic Engagement report. I was relieved to hear that those comments were written by an employee who did NOT properly state the position of his organization. Eric personally wrote a letter to the park during the January 2023 comment period informing the park of Western Watershed’s position. You can read it here:
We were so happy to hear this news! The Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horses need as much support as they can get! We believe in being transparent with our followers, and we knew you would be happy to hear this news!
On another note…
Yesterday during the conference, I had the EXTREME pleasure of speaking with Dr. Ross MacPhee SPECIFICALLY about our TRNP wild horses!!! I will write more about that as I can! For now, I have to get ready – I am the FIRST speaker at the conference today (EEEKKKK!!!!) and then – it is off to Congressman Armstrong’s office for our long awaited meeting with his office!
Stay Tuned!
I also want to say that the hard work and dedication that all of us have been doing collectively as an organization have been doing is recognized EVERY DAY by someone here at the conference! Whan an incredible honor and a testament to ALL of the hard work that WE have been doing TOGETHER! Pat yourselves on the back! You are doing a GREAT job!
Thank you for your support and please consider making a donation to help support our advocacy work! You can find different way to donate on our website: https://chwha.org/support-chwha/
Have a GREAT day!
Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home! We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control. Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans. We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
