We thought today it might be good to talk about what we are fighting for!
Meet Filly Maisey. She was born on November 7th to Mare Paige and Stallion Grady is her presumed sire.
Isn’t she a sweetheart!
We got to visit meet Maisey yesterday and visit with the band.
Maisey’s mom, Mare Paige, has not had a foal since 2019. She had a colt that was captured and sold in 2019 and then was treated with GonaCon. Up until this year, Paige has not had any offspring in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Now she has Maisey!
This is important because when we talk about our fight to have a genetically viable herd of horses remain IN Theodore Roosevelt National Park – we believe that every horse should be able to contribute to the genetic make up of the herd.
THAT is how we were told they are managed in other national parks. There is no reason why that also cannot happen in OUR favorite national park: Theodore Roosevelt National Park!
We are fighting for Maisey and all of the just under 200 wild horses that call the Park home.
There is still A LOT of work to do – but inch by inch, we ARE doing it!
I also spoke with Joe yesterday. His article will be out next week. He called me to go over his article and fact check some things. He really talked to a lot of people as he worked on this article! I am excited to read it and think you will all enjoy it! There is an EVEN bigger surprise coming with this article – but that has to wait until the article comes out!
Know that our beloved Stallion Flax and everyone’s favorite, Colt Boomer, will have their stories told on the NATIONAL STAGE! Joe had me send him some photos of both of them to add to the article.

THIS is going to be an INCREDIBLE way to let the world know about Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s plans to eliminate ALL 200 of the wild horses, including young Maisey, from the boundaries of the Park!
