Hello and Happy Sunday to everyone!
Thank you to everyone who has given us such positive feedback on Steve Martens Horse Talk on Friday! If you missed it in real time, the video has been uploaded to our YouTube channel! You can view the video here:https://youtu.be/vU1RKBPGNBY
Steve’s Horse Talk was about the Historic Preservation Act and the Section 106 Review process. It was a great talk and we appreciate people like Steve who are advocating with us for the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
TOMORROW (4/8/24) our friend Heather from Save Our Wild Horses will join us at 6 pm MT for a NEW Horse Talk. This will be the second in an ongoing series Heather and I hope to continue under our Wild Horse Advocacy Actions title. These events are always FREE, but we do ask that you register in advance: https://secure.everyaction.com/_o3EfJys80iGSjIVlKt2QA2 We always make the recordings available, as long as the technology gods work with us! Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel to be notified about updates!
April 21-28, 2024, Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates will be holding our Spring Silent Auction! We are currently accepting donations for our auction. If you have an item or items you would like to donate, you can add them on the website here: https://chwha.betterworld.org/donate-an-item or you can email us at info@chwha.org and we can add them for you. More information will be coming soon including auction rules, start dates and times and a preview of the items!
Why do we continue to fundraise?
As you know, Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates (CHWHA) has been leading the fight to save the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Park publicly announced their plans to eliminate the ENTIRE herd of horses in December of 2022.
CHWHA has been diligently working with our state and federal legislators to save this historic herd of horses. Our biggest win has been having Senator John Hoeven add language to the 2024 Interior Department Appropriations Bill that sends a clear message to the National Park Service that Congress stands with the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
As great as that action by Senator Hoven is, it is not enough to ensure that these iconic wild horses remain wild and free!
History shows us that the Park has a history of trying to remove these horses. If we “win” this one and quit now, it will be a complete and total waste of all we have accomplished over the last couple of years.
These horses need federal protection to make sure what we are going through now NEVER happens again! We need federal protection to make sure that our children and our children’s children are always able to see wild horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
We keep telling you that this fight is far from over. We need every one of you to stay with us for the long haul in this fight.
There is a lot of work to be done to make this happen, and CHWHA has already started working on this process!
Your support for things like our silent auction and general donations helps support our critical advocacy work.
What kind of items are we looking for to be donated for our silent auction?
ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!
We have had everything from paintings, photos, jewelry, gift cards, candles, taffy and more in our past auctions! If you are in the process of doing some Spring Cleaning in your own home, please consider donating items that you may no longer have a use for but think someone else might to our auction.
We hope to have some updates on some of our advocacy work soon!
Thank you for your continued support! Enjoy the last bits of your weekend!
