STILL Fighting for Alluvium!

chwildhorseadvocates Avatar

Hello and Happy Saturday!

We are STILL fighting for Alluvium to be set free in the park.  While the majority of you agree and are standing with us in this fight for his freedom, there have been a few people commenting on our social media posts stating that they trust the park’s decision, that CHWHA should stop “harassing” the park over this, that Alluvium is “just one horse”, and even a call for CHWHA to buy him if he ends up on GSA Auctions.

People are entitled to their own opinion.  CHWHA believes that if the park is allowed to remove Alluvium with the “nuisance” excuse, that this will set a dangerous precedent that means that the remaining wild horses can also be in danger of being labeled a “nuisance” and then can be removed at the will of the park. We also believe that every single one of these horses in the TRNP herd matters!

In light of new information we have received as Alluvium’s capture story continues to unfold, we have adjusted the letter that we are emailing the park.  We ask that all of you not only send this email again, but please, share this information and ask your family and friends to also send emails to the park and our elected officials.

Below is the SECOND email I sent to Superintendent Angie Richman yesterday after I received a message from one of the campers IN the horse camp in the days surrounding Alluvium’s capture.  There are others who were in the horse camp that are collaborating with this story.  THANK YOU to Kelly Ringer for sharing this information with us!

Hello again!

I received the following email in response to my blog today.  It would appear that there is a misunderstanding about the “nuisance” horse Alluvium.

Again, we are asking that Alluvium be released back into the park.  I am also making a 3rd request for a copy or the complaint that forced park management to take this action against Alluvium:

Bucked off!

I’m just sick about this. My group was camping at round up with Alluvium shortly before he was detained. Yes, he hung around and followed around everywhere. Yes our horses were excited and acted dumb. Yes, my horses bucked me off twice in 5 minutes because of all the excitement- I also got dumped in sage brush an hour later because a leaf blew the wrong way. None of this is Alluviums fault. I want to write whoever is in charge of him my experience, but I don’t want it to get twisted as another story of Alluvium causing problems. Our group did not complain.

This person also stated that she sent the park an email of her own telling this same story and has not heard back from anyone.

I look forward to your response.

We will share more as this story continues to unfold.  As you can see, people at the horse camp seem to understand the risks of bringing a domestic horse into a national park with wild horses.  They stand with us in asking the park to release Alluvium back into the park.

Please take a quick moment to once again demand that Alluvium be set free back into his home!  We made it easy for you: https://secure.everyaction.com/4bIr7BLQ60SHxHhJLAI_-Q2

Thank you for your support and please check back for more updates coming soon!

P.S. We do hope that the park is working on getting that “nuisance” leaf that caused Kelly’s horse to buck! We can’t have leaves potentially endangering park visitors and their animals, can we?

Angie Richman has her own hidden but obvious agenda… she does not believe in transparency

“Remember: all wildlife in the park are wild and potentially dangerous”. Quote from TRNP web site. So, do they plan on removing all wildlife, to prevent possible potential threat or nusiance toward people, when visitors enter the park? Goes against their own grain to start pulling animals just because they chose too and diffently discriminating towards wild horses.
