Yes, that is right, as much as we hate to come to you with more sad news, especially on the heels of just letting you know that Stallion Sidekick passed away, we believe in being honest and transparent with our followers.

Guardian was born in 2013 to Mare Sumac.  His sire is unknown.  He has one known offspring in the park, Mare Katie out of Mare Freckles.  Both Katie and her mom Freckles are in Stallion Ollie Jr.’s band.

Guardian was a gorgeous and very unique stallion.

We have no idea what happened to this young stallion.  We were able to visit with him not too long ago, and he looked great, as you can see by this photo.

Earlier this year, Guardian lost the band he previously took from Stallion Illinois.  The band plus Mare Serendipity ended up back with Illinois.  Guardian has been walking with only Mare Snip’s Gray since June of this year.

Mare Snip’s Gray is currently with 2000 Stallion Banty (Frosty x Red Face). 

It is possible that the two stallions got into a fight, and it did not end well for Guardian.

The truth is, since none of us are in the park 24/7 monitoring every move these horses make, we will never know anything more than we just lost another great stallion in the TRNP herd.

It has been a very sad couple of days for those of us who love and document these horses.  We are so sorry to come to you with more sad news.
