Resolution No. 2024-15

Hello and Happy Tuesday to everyone!

We have a late update for you!

TONIGHT, the Medora City Council UNANIMOUSLY passed Resolution No 2024-15 asking that a genetically viable and healthy herd of wild horses remain in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

This is something we have been working on with them for a few months now and we are ecstatic over the outcome!  You can read the full resolution here:

You will remember that we also had the Billings County Commission adopt a similar resolution in recent months. You can read about that (and also read the resolution) in our blog: https://chwha.org/2024/08/06/face-to-face-with-superintendent-richman/

Why this matters:

We learned over the last couple of years that EVERY LITTLE THING matters.  These resolutions are sent to our federal legislators, including Senator John Hoeven.  They let them know where their help is needed and what is important to the people of the state.

We will also be sharing these resolutions with our state legislators as we continue to work with them on legislation for the upcoming session. These resolutions only help support the legislation we are working on.

There are a lot of things we have been working on, and we will have more to share in the coming weeks!

One of those things we have been working on is our website!  For the last couple of years, I have literally been throwing things on our website to make them available to everyone.  We finally have someone more experienced than me, helping to put them together in a new format that makes more sense.

You can see the new design on our homepage: www.chwha.org Please be patient with us as the navigation is updated.  Our goal is to have everything in place by November.

Thank you again for your support and have a great night!

    Dear Chris and friends,
Congratulations on all your successes with Medora Council, Billings County, state and federal agencies, and even the Park Service officials. All you’ve accomplished is a reflection of so much hard work, but also of the relationships you’ve built and the kinds of support that will continuing over time. You’ve changed the landscape! Very best going forward. We’ll check out the new web page.

What welcome news! I hope the fuse is lit to secure the future of the wild horses of TRNP.
