Time to Say Goodbye

“I came to understand that… while happiness is an emotion that is a result of something, gratitude is a choice. You can choose to be grateful. You can build it into your routine, and your organizations, and your companies,”

“There’s so many things in the world that you can’t control. You can’t control the weather, and you can’t control competition, and you can’t control a lot of market forces. But in the middle of chaos and adversity, you can always choose to be grateful. And that’s an amazing thing.”

~ Doug Burgum

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has been an integral part of our fight to save the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  With his help, we were able to stop the park from their plans to remove EVERY horse from the boundaries of the park.  The park announced that they stopped their Environmental Assessment process in April of this year.

Governor Burgum stepped into the arena publicly on January 30, 2023: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14jDP1yUxP/

He and his team have remained engaged to the very end of his term.

It would be a huge miss if I did NOT try to get a meeting with the next Secretary of the Interior.  I wasn’t successful in getting one last meeting, but I DID try!

There are strict rules on things like this.  The same rules apply to Congressman Armstrong’s office – we can’t talk to his congressional office about issues concerning his new role as North Dakota’s next governor.

Again, we felt it was worth a try!

As you can see in the quote above, Governor Burgum is very big on gratitude.

Since he has given us A LOT to be grateful for through his help with the issues concerning the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park – we felt it was only right that we all take a moment to say THANK YOU to him. His last day in office is December 14th.

Today, we are asking that you please take a moment to send this simple thank you to Governor Doug Burgum.  We do truly wish him well in his next chapter and are grateful for all his help and support!  You can send your email here: https://secure.everyaction.com/noLyGxPpc0ulPB5YtT45FA2

I have received a ton of emails, calls and private messages from all of you hoping that we can count on Governor Burgum’s continued support as he transitions into his new role as Secretary of the Interior.

I also truly hope he remains engaged.

Something that happened throughout the last couple of years has also given me a sense of hope that he will remain engaged in issues important to North Dakota.

Ed Schafer served as North Dakota’s governor from 1992-2000.  He went on to oversee the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2008, during the last year of former President George W. Bush’s administration.

Ed Schafer has been in contact with me personally on a regular basis.  My last email from him was on October 15th.  He also stopped in our store this summer to say hello and thank us for all of our hard work in our fight for the TRNP wild horses.

While nothing but time will show us what Governor Burgum does as he moves into his role as Secretary of the Interior, Ed Schafer’s continued engagement keeps me hopeful that we can expect Doug Burgum to remain engaged as well.

Thank you again to each one of you for your continued support!

Is it possible that a decent cabinet choice has come from the incoming administration? I’me hopeful.
