Hello and Happy New Year’s Eve to everyone!
As we come to the end of an incredible year, we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU for all of your help and support this year!
Together, we accomplished so much!
WE STOPPED THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE’S PLANS TO ELIMINATE THE ENTIRE HERD OF WILD HORSES FROM THEODORE ROOSEVELT NATIONAL PARK!!!!
THAT was a HUGE win – but we are NOT done yet!
The park showed us in October that they are NOT finished with their plans to eliminate this herd, even if it is silently with GonaCon!
We have state legislation that will be introduced in the 2025 ND Legislative Session that will begin to get these horses the protection they need. We are also working on federal legislation and see this state piece as the first step in that process!
Last night, we were at the Medora Chamber of Commerce meeting to show them our legislation and talk to them about being a part of the working group being formed. They not only agreed to be a part of it, Medora Chamber President Clarence Sitter took a moment to personally thank us for our hard work and dedication to this herd. Again, please take a moment to take in that gratitude from the community that knows how important this small historic herd of wild horses is to this small section of Southwestern North Dakota!
We also got confirmation that The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation is also in support of this working group and will be a part of it – IF our legislation passes!
We have A LOT of work to do in 2025! We hope you will stay with us for the long haul as we continue to Fight for the Spirit of the Badlands!
