We need your help!

The wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park need your help!

This week, the North Dakota House Agriculture Committee will hear testimony on SCR 4006. This is a resolution that Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates drafted and had introduced this legislative session with our state legislators that asks our federal legislators to help get federal protection for this herd.

Last month, the North Dakota Senate UNANIMOUSLY votes to pass SCR 4006. Now, we have to get the same done on the House side!

Just because this passed in the ND Senate DOES NOT mean that it will pass the ND House! MANY bills have failed already as our state legislators entered “crossover”!

What can you do?

Take a moment to send an email to the ND House Agriculture Committee letting them know you would like them to pass SCR 4006: https://secure.everyaction.com/AqA4NmgHAEyOfD58KH2xEA2 This made a HUGE impact when we sent emails to the ND Senate side! We need to have the same impact on the ND House! You can send this email as often as you like. Please ask your friends, co-workers and family members to send this email too!

Those two things are THE MOST IMPORTANT items we are asking you to do this week!

The wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park are NOT protected under the Wild and Free Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act! This leaves them subject to each new superintendent and their management decisions. PLEASE NOTE: Theodore Roosevelt National Park had a record THREE different superintendents last year!!!

This is our chance to put the state of North Dakota on record with our federal legislators that they want federal protection for this herd. If SCR 4006 DOES NOT pass the ND House, the resolution will die in the ND House and we will NOT get another chance to get it passed until 2027!
