Breaking our Silence

Hello and Happy Thursday!

I apologize for the silence this past week.  As you know, I am still recovering from pneumonia.  A week ago today, my mom suffered a stroke and she has been my main focus this past week.

She is doing better but she had a stroke – we are on the road to recovery.

I had to reschedule the meeting I had planned for this week.  It is now rescheduled for next week. That means we have 1 more week to continue to get as many signatures on our petition to have the collars removed as possible.  If you haven’t already, please take a moment to sign this petition: https://secure.everyaction.com/x-5WrjPo20Cb4LGbj5PD-A2 If you have already signed it, please ask your friends and family members to sign.

We also are excited that the Wall Street Journal called on us to discuss Project 2025 and what that may mean for our wild horses and burros.  The article was released today, and you can read it here: https://www.wsj.com/politics/inside-the-save-americas-wild-horses-campaign-50cc0390

We also have a PDF of the article for you here:

Please be patient as we get back to a new normal here.  I will be working on our “What’s Next” blog series.  We will be looking for input from all of you and also looking for your help.  If you are interested in volunteering to help our organization, please make sure you tune in next week for ways you can volunteer!

We should also have some answers about federal legislation after our meeting next week.  We will begin discussing our concerns about S1377 and how you can help with any necessary amendments.  We have A LOT of work to do to get this passed to get the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park the federal protection they deserve.

As always, your donations help keep us going!  We have basic expenses that we have to pay every month – website, web hosting, our software that enables us to put out those “one click” Calls to Action etc.  We have about $2000 in monthly expenses that we need your help with.  We are also working on a new brochure for this year as well as a fun new project we are partnering with someone new on. If you are able to help, you can make your tax deductible donation to us here: https://secure.everyaction.com/wnK6YjHlTkCC2Aq57_7srQ2

Thank you for your support and have a safe holiday weekend.  We will  be back next week with our new blog series.
