“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”
~ Theodore Roosevelt
Hello and Happy Friday to everyone!
We shared a Facebook live this morning talking about a NEW campaign we have launched! You can view our Facebook live here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16bBpNPfWA/
A few months ago, a wonderful woman named Linda contacted me asking if we wanted to be part of a coloring campaign to raise awareness for our wild horses and burros. Linda and I have been talking about this and perfecting the plan for months now and TODAY we are excited to launch this amazing campaign!
Linda is with the Yocum Institute for the Arts in Pennsylvania (you can view their website here: (https://www.yocuminstitute.org/ )
THANK YOU to Linda for reaching out and helping us develop what we think can be an amazing campaign!
We took 11 different photos we have taken, mostly of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horses and also one image from McCullough Peaks of Raindrop and Tuff, and turned them into coloring pages. We think we have developed coloring pages for EVERY age level!
We have coloring pages available at the Chasing Horses shop located at 312 Pacific Ave in Medora (in the Teddy’s Village shopping mall right next to the FarmHouse Café) We even have just about every color crayon imaginable available so kids can color their images on the Teddy’s Village porch all summer long! This is a great way to pass the time while you wait for your table at the FarmHouse! We also don’t mind if you take a few crayons in with you to work on your coloring page while you wait for your food! Just be sure to bring the crayons back so others can color their images too!
This is open to kids of ALL ages – so if you are an adult who is a kid at heart – feel free to join in!
Kids are welcome to color as many of the images as they would like!
When they are done coloring, we ask that they add their name and city/state to the bottom of the image and return them to the Chasing Horses store located at 312 Pacific Ave in Medora. When the coloring pages are returned, kids will get an entry form to fill out. Our friends at Chasing Horses have offered to give away 1 – $10 gift certificate to their shop every week through Labor Day! This gift certificate can be used in their store in Medora or online at www.chasinghorses.com They will receive 1 entry for every completed coloring page they return!
THANK YOU to Chasing Horses for helping us facilitate this campaign! The first drawing will be Monday, June 16th! A new name will be pulled every Monday after that through Labor Day!
IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT TO MEDORA….
We have ALL of the information you need listed on our website! https://chwha.org/get-involved/coloring-campaign/ This includes ALL 11 coloring pages that you can download! We listed the people we are targeting with this campaign. The Yocum Institute is targeting President Trump specifically. You can either send your pictures to any of the people on the list, OR you can mail your finished pictures to us. Again, all of these details can be found on our website: Coloring Campaign – CHWHA
There is a cost associated with this! We are grateful to Service Printers in Dickinson for getting these printed so beautifully for us and so quickly! We paid for an initial printing of 1100 coloring pages. We want to keep this going all summer long – REMEMBER – Theodore Roosevelt National Park gets over 900,000 visitors EVERY YEAR (mostly during the spring and summer months!!) There will also be costs associated with mailing these out. We believe that with your help and support, we can really make an impact!
