Happy STALLION SUNDAY that is!

Today we are going to finish our update and story from the last of the 4 East Side Bachelors. 

Meet 2014 Stallion Maverick. 

Maverick was born to Mare Lightening and Stallion Satellite. 

Another TRNP handsome stallion for sure!

Maverick started his journey as a band stallion by targeting Stallion Brutus in the spring of 2019.  Maverick would challenge the band stallion constantly and when they were not fighting, Maverick was standing right at the outskirts of the band – almost as if he was part of the band – just waiting for an opportunity.  In the fall of 2019, his persistence paid off.  He was able to gain part of Brutus’ band.  That was not enough for the young stallion.  He persisted for months until that summer when he was finally able to take the entire band from Brutus. 

The next year, in the fall of 2020, Maverick started losing his mares to 2013 Stallion Trooper.  In February of 2021, Trooper was successful in taking Maverick’s entire band from him.  The two stallions fought almost continually, and Maverick was never far from Trooper and his band.  This constant fighting went on for MONTHS.  In July of 2021, for reasons none of us know, the fighting ended with Maverick once again gaining control of his band.  Trooper was once again a bachelor stallion.

Maverick seemed to be content with his band until earlier this year.

As 2025 rolled in, Maverick was seen with Mare Sundance – once a lead mare for Stallion Gunner’s band. 

Sundance, it would seem, was just the start of a new battle brewing between these two stallions that were once BFF’s as part of the East Side Bachelor’s!

As we mentioned earlier, Gunner has kept the biggest band in the park for years now.  All of that has changed this year!

Maverick has since added mares Cedar, Grace along with Grace’s son Black Hawk to his band.  We witnessed the two stallions fighting again a few weeks ago.

Time will tell if Maverick will continue his usual dedicated antics until he gets ALL of Gunner’s mares or if he is content with his recent additions.  Time will also tell if Gunner is able to get ANY of the mares his lost to Gunner and others back.
