“Self-care is never a selfish act—it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer to others.”

~ Parker Palmer

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I apologize for the silence, but I did what most of you emailed and said to me – I took some time to heal from a crazy bout of pneumonia.  I do have a follow-up appointment and some additional tests but all in all, I am feeling 95% better than I was.  Thank you to everyone who took time to send a message! I hope all of you have been taking care of yourselves as well!

We never stopped working during our silence.  We have been meeting with documentarians, the press, politicians and more!  We have a lot to share with all of you!

We have been posting regularly on social media.  Please check out our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ChasingHorsesWHA or visit us on Instagram at @Chasinghorseswha.

We will be back this week with regular blogs.  Tomorrow, we will have a NEW Call to Action for you!

We also received a response from Secretary Doug Burgum’s office.  We will share that in a blog this week as well!

The last few months has given us time to reflect on our work to stop the National Park Service from rounding up the wild horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  We will have a recap and update for you as well as some information on what’s next!  We will want your input and will absolutely need your help for our next steps!

Our coloring campaign is still going strong!  We have been sending letters to our elected officials with these beautifully colored photos from kids of all ages every week!  We are getting ready to get more coloring pages printed as summer winds down.  You can download coloring pages and learn more about this campaign on our website here: https://chwha.org/get-involved/coloring-campaign/

Nonprofits everywhere are struggling financially these days.  We are no different.  If you are able to make a donation to help us with our expenses, we would greatly appreciate it!  This includes everything from supporting printing of our new brochure and coloring pages to costs for our software that allows us to create our one click Calls to Action, postage for the coloring pages we have been sending out, post office box fees and our fees to participate in Giving Hearts Day 2026.

You can make your tax deductible donation to Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates here: https://secure.everyaction.com/wnK6YjHlTkCC2Aq57_7srQ2

Thank you for your continued support and be sure to check back this week for more updates!
