Last week was a busy one and this week will start off busy again!
As you know, our journey to FINALLY get federal protection for the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park has officially begun! The Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee’s Subcommittee on National Parks will meet THIS TUESDAY (12/9/2025) to receive testimony about S1377 – The Theodore Roosevelt National Park Wild Horse Protection Act!
That includes testimony from all of you! THANK YOU to the 2300 people who have taken the time to take our one click Call to Action that sends an email directly to our Senate contacts on this subcommittee! In addition to those 2300 of you who took action with us, American Wild Horse Conservation also created their own Call to Action to support us!

We told you that we needed to make an impact and really have high numbers contacting the committee to help us get the amendments we are requesting added to the legislation! YOU ARE COMING THROUGH LOUD & CLEAR! Let’s take the next couple of days to finish strong! Is there someone you can ask to take action? Friends? Family members? Co-workers? Can you take action again? We have spent the weekend talking with hundreds of people in Medora about this and urging them to take action! We passed out flyers and we had an Op-Ed in this weekend’s Bismarck Tribune! Please do what you can to help spread the word!
We will keep this Call to Action open through Tuesday when the committee is scheduled to meet.

Flyers, Op-Eds and other ways we work to advocate for these historic wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home cost our organization money. To be honest, it has been a hard year for most non-profits. Donations are down and we are all struggling to keep our causes alive. We are SO CLOSE to FINALLY getting these horses the federal protection they deserve! It will take A LOT of resources to get this bill, with our amendments, across the finish line!
