Hello and Happy Monday!

Have you participated in our 2nd Annual Wild Horse & Burro Virtual Summit?  We have had AMAZING presentations from 11 different speakers so far!  We have 8 more for you this coming weekend, beginning on Friday!  You can view the entire schedule and sign up for the presentations you want to see on our website here: https://chwha.org/2026-wild-horse-summit/

Links that are on the presentations that have already taken place will take you to our YouTube channel to view that presentation.  You can also view all of the videos for our 2026 presentations on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@ChasingHorsesWildHorseAd-vj8hm

As a reminder, this event is FREE!  We just ask that you register in advance for each speaker.

A few speakers have also shared documents that they discussed in their presentations.  Those are also available for you to download on our summit website.

There has been some amazing information shared about how to work with the press, ways to help our wild burros, updates to the Montgomery Pass herd, the TRNP wild horses, Carter Reservoir HMA and the Salt Wells Creek wild horses.  We have heard updates on the Safe Act and also very informative information on BML policy PIM2021-2007.  We also heard from The Wild Horse Refuge and Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue! Linda Greaves also gave an update on this years in person wild horse and burro conference that will be held in Utah!

And that was all in the first TWO weekends!  We have 3 more weekends to go!

We are still waiting to confirm 4-5 presentations.  We hope to have that info on the website soon.  One of the confirmations we are waiting for includes Theodore Roosevelt National Park!  We appreciate their commitment to a positive path forward in their relationship with us!

For those of you who have been waiting, we DID reschedule Jon Eagle Sr.’s presentation to January 24th at 10 am mountain time.  If you already registered for his presentation on 1/3, you DO NOT have to register again – we just updated the links you already have!

It has been great to see so many people having some really engaging conversations at each presentation!  We hope you will bring those conversations to our final presentation of the summit – our Closing Thoughts where we allow everyone to be unmuted, all videos are on and we have a conversation about highlights from the summit and discuss anything wild horse and burros that you want to talk about before we close out the summit.

Congresswoman Dina Titus is also preparing a pre-recorded video to help close our summit this year!

There has been something to learn from each and every presentation so far and we look forward to the next three weeks!

Giving Hearts Day is February 12th this year.  This is always our biggest fundraiser of the year.  With your help, we have raised $5,000 in matching funds through direct donations and our silent auctions.  THANK YOU for your generosity!

Now, we have about a month to match and maximize that $5,000!

Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour fundraising event that takes place annually on the second Thursday of February in North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota.  Its sole purpose is to support local charities and nonprofits within those communities.

Every $10 donation counts toward our Giving Hearts Day goal!

To have your donation count SPECIFICALLY for Giving Hearts Day, you must make your donation on the Giving Hearts Day website here: https://app.givingheartsday.org/#/charity/1669

Donations can be made NOW through February 12th!

You can also mail your Giving Hearts Day donation to us with a check or money order.  Those donations MUST be received by 2/12/2026 to count toward our Giving Hearts Day goal.  Please make sure you write for Giving Hearts Day in the memo section.  You can mail your check or money order to us at:

To help kick off this event, yesterday we made a post on Facebook and Instagram asking who your favorite TRNP wild horse was.  On Friday, we will draw a name from the comments made on the post and the winner will receive a $10 Giving Hearts Day gift card that will allow you to make a Giving Hearts Day donation to the charity of your choice!  We hope that will be CHWHA! You can comment on that post here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16ubpznrQp/

We have more meetings with federal legislators this week as we continue to work on amendments for S1377 The Theodore Roosevelt National Park Wild Horse Protection Act!  We will pop in if there are any updates to share!

As always, thank you for your continued support and have a great week!
