Hello and Happy Thursday!
It seems like a good time to check in with everyone again. How are you doing?
How about another inspirational quote?
I heard this one a few weeks ago and it stuck with me.
“As you alone, there is not a lot you can do. But that’s not the right way to think about it. The right way to think about it is if you do your little thing, it is going to be fine. If everybody does their little thing, it is actually going to be fine.
The question is not how you save the world. The question is how you do a little thing regularly on some terrain where you know something in cooperation with other people regularly. If you get that far, it’s actually going to be ok.
If we all do that, it’s going to be ok.”
~Timothy Snyder
As I have been sorting out my health issues, this quote really spoke to me. It reminds me that I don’t have to figure it all out right now or fix everything. I just have to keep doing exactly what I have been doing for years now – that one little thing –REGULARLY. You can follow the updates to my health issues here: https://gofund.me/ef5d2177f
I also appreciated the part that said “on some terrain where you know something”. In the crazy times we live in, with all the issues facing us today, the terrain that I know something is helping to get the best management plan for the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
We are remaining busy and vigilant in our work to protect the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. There have been quite a few different meetings we continue to have with anyone and everyone from other advocates, members of Congress, TRNP Park management and the press. We are still gathering information and in some cases still waiting for answers. We hope to have a lot to talk about around the end of the month. It seems quiet, but there really is always something happening here!
The last part of that quote says, “in cooperation with other people regularly.”
We wanted to share the work of two other friends with you today.
Many of you probably remember North Dakota reporter, Patrick Springer. Patrick was instrumental in keeping the wild horses of TRNP in the news – especially over the last few years when the battle to save them hit us all hard. Our friend Patrick, retired as a reporter from The Fargo Forum, and has been working on his book about the TRNP wild horses.
“Untamed” is now available for pre-order. You can order your copy here: https://chasinghorses.com/products/untamed-the-story-of-the-wild-horses-of-theodore-roosevelt-national-park We expect to have these books within the next week or so and will ship them as soon as we receive them. Patrick will also be doing book signings at the physical shop my husband and I own in Medora this spring/summer. We will share details as we get those! We hope you will help support Patrick’s work to tell the story of our beloved historic wild horses!
This book covers the history of the amazing wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We thought you would be interested to know that Patrick ended the book with all of us – those of you who make up and are part of Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates and the details of our fight to save this iconic wild horse herd! How exciting is it to have our advocacy work make it into print?!
Patrick also did a wonderful presentation at our virtual summit this year. He talked about the book and also gave some great points for working with the press. You can view the video here: https://youtu.be/N0xFG500vms
We also hosted the people that will be holding The Nokota Experience during our virtual summit. You can view their presentation here: https://youtu.be/YU6Nuqkw2aI
We are excited to be partnering with them for an amazing – truly once in a lifetime experience June 1-7, 2026 right here in North Dakota!
Our friend Anouchka Moscatelli has been working hard to help Frank Kuntz and his Nokota horses. This Nokota Experience will directly benefit the Nokota horses here in North Dakota. You can get additional information about this project – INCLUDING an upcoming documentary – on their website here: https://www.nokotaexperience.com/
Thank you for letting us check in with you this week! Thank you also for your continued prayers, kind words and support! We also want to thank you for supporting our friends and partners on their projects to help bring attention to wild horses here in the great state of North Dakota!
Have a great rest of the week!
Please help support our advocacy work!
