Hello and Happy Monday!

I want to start by apologizing for the quietness here.  As many of you are aware, earlier this year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.  The last couple of weeks have been very rough for me!  The ONLY thing I have been doing is having meetings with members of Congress to discuss the amendments we are requesting for The Theodore Roosevelt National Park Wild Horse Protection Act.

I have seen many people and organizations sharing the article (THAT is GREAT!) but want to make sure that everyone is doing more than being outraged at what was found in this article.

We created a one click Call to Action for you.  This will allow you to send an email to your members of Congress asking them to take immediate action on this issue.  This is also a GREAT time to ask them to pass the Save America’s Forgotten Equines Act (SAFE Act)!

For more information on the SAFE Act, please visit our friends at the Wild Beauty Foundation.  Ashley has been working hard (along with many other groups and advocates) to get this legislation passed!  My understanding is that there are a record number of Congressmen who have signed onto this bill.  We only have a short time to get this passed in THIS Congress!  You can find ways to help on their website here: https://wildbeautyfoundation.org/

We also want to point out that THIS is why we are working so hard to get The Theodore Roosevelt National Park Wild Horse Protection Act amended.  There are obvious loopholes that future park management officials can use that would actually hurt our beloved TRNP horses! 

Remember: Just because a new law is created, doesn’t necessarily mean it is a good one – ESPECIALLY if the law doesn’t do what it was intended to do.  We will have a Call to Action for you this week for this legislation, so please be sure to check back.
