WHAT Are You FIGHTING For?

Yesterday we made a post asking you WHO you are fighting for in this Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horse herd.  We have started a campaign to collect photos and stories from you for our 2024 calendar.  You can find info on the post pinned to the top of our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ChasingHorsesWHA).  Photos and stories can be emailed to us at info@chwha.org.

Today we are going to ask WHY you are fighting for these horses.

More than that.  WHAT are you willing to do to help them?

We travelled to Washington DC a few weeks ago and talked to and/or left information with over 200 members of congress.  We are about halfway through our list. Have you been sending your emails?  We have the list of email addresses and a sample email on our website here: https://chwha.org/call-to-action-dc-follow-up/

I am sending my own emails every day. I am just one person.  There is a significant difference between a congressional staffer receiving an email from me and receiving emails from 10, 20, 50 or even hundreds of you!

What is the goal?

We are working to get federal protection for the wild horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. These horses are NOT protected under the Wild Horse & Burro Act.  Federal protection will help make sure that we never have to go through an announcement from the park saying they are eliminating the horses! History shows us that they do this pretty regularly!

Have you ever drafted a federal law?

Neither have we!

That is why TOMORROW, we will be meeting with our lobbyist friends at American Wild Horse Campaign to talk about the BEST strategy forward for this part of our advocacy work.

So please, send your emails!  These horses need every single one of us to be their voice!

We ARE making a difference!  We just can’t quit now!

Thank you for your support and have a great day!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
