Wild Horse Wins

Hello and Happy Saturday!

As you know, more wild horses lost their freedom this week on the western range.

Instead of focusing on the sadness of those events, I thought we would continue our positivity from our Friday Gratitude post yesterday.  There are GREAT things happening in the wild horse community and those are not highlighted enough!

First – did you see our friend Scott Beckstead take on Nevada Senator Ira Hansen?! If you didn’t – you really missed a GREAT debate!  A video of the debate will be shared as soon as it is available.  For now, you can enjoy Scott’s afterthoughts of the debate in this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/YZOacPFoOhA?si=3srPFCh-X35NweIi

This was a GREAT way to bring the misinformation regarding wild horses on the western range out into the public.  Scott did an amazing job bringing science and FACTS to the table.

We always say, “Opinions are NOT FACTS” and when any of us are advocating for wild horses, we have to remember to be armed with FACTS.  Scott led by example in spades!

THANK YOU, Scott, for your dedication to wild horses and for being a wild horse warrior!

Another GREAT thing to celebrate this week….

Yesterday our friend Ashley Avis sent me an email.  Ashley is the director of Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West.

Ashley writes:

“We are so proud to let you know that WILD BEAUTY: MUSTANG SPIRIT OF THE WEST is now officially an awards contender for the Oscars 2024!”

HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!

Ashley has done an INCREDIBLE job not only producing but also promoting her movie to expose the plight of wild horses EVERYWHERE!

Of course, we are extra excited that our Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horses made the movie!

How can we help Ashley take Wild Beauty to the Oscars?

#1 – if you have NOT watched this movie yet – PLEASE DO!  It is available on several different streaming platforms.

#2 – Share the official trailer of Wild Beauty! We always say that when we share posts, you never know when your share is the one that gets that post in front of the right people that can make all the difference.  Between now and November, we need you to share the trailer as much as possible! We need EVERYONE to spread the message that Wild Beauty is THIS YEAR’s MUST SEE documentary! Please share the trailer here: https://youtu.be/AZHX7dWZDcg?si=oLKBMtaa90EWLwa2

#3 – write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper talking about what a wonderful documentary Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West is!

#4 – If you are in the area, make sure to get your tickets to the Black Hills Film Festival! WILD BEAUTY will be screening on September 29th AND October 1st in South Dakota. We hope to see you there!

If you can think of other ways to help spread the word, please let us know!

I am sure there are other countless people out there doing great things in the wild horse community.  If you know them, please comment on this blog and let us know about them!  We have to celebrate our wins, no matter how small!

Thank you again to Scott & Ashley for your amazing wild horse advocacy.  Thank you also to all of you for advocating with us!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Thank you for your support!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
