Hello and Happy Friday!
I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone for your continued help and support to Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates as we continue to Fight for the Spirit of the Badlands. We started this fight on December 12, 2022, and we have not stopped! In fact, we have only gotten stronger as the months have gone on! We have built up quite the alliance of individuals and organizations working with us!
THANK YOU to all of you for your support!
Some general news and updates from this week…
The AP article is STILL circulating! How awesome is that?! If you haven’t shared it yet, please do! https://apnews.com/article/north-dakota-national-park-wild-horses-dd955ffdf9c3ff9f5370e832e59cc3e4 And don’t forget – if your local newspaper printed a copy, please send a letter to the editor! Continuing to engage in this post from the AP website will let them know that there is an audience for wild horse stories – and then hopefully they will cover more!
Wd have received a bunch of donations already for our silent auction! THANK YOU again to everyone who donated! If you have items you want to donate, you can upload them and the information to our online silent auction website: https://chwha.betterworld.org/donate-an-item We have everything from resort gift cards, matted photos, original drawings and paintings and so much more! Please share this link with anyone you think might be able to help us make this auction a success!
We have had several followers ask for some of our brochures to be passed out in their areas! We are out of stickers but will soon need to order more of both! THANK YOU again! If you would like us to send you some brochures, please email us at info@chwha.org
This week, we added a NEW Horse Talk – Dr. Ross MacPhee will be joining us on September 29th! These events are FREE, but we do ask that you register in advance: https://secure.everyaction.com/raUfLDfuJka1morvD0YaGg2. We will do our best to have a video available if you cannot make it on the 29th. THAT is entirely up to the technology gods! Lol
There is still a lot of work to be done. We are all waiting patiently for the Draft Environmental Assessment to be released. Please continue to check our website. We will need EVERYONE to comment during that 30-day public comment period. We will be working with other wild horse advocates as well as our legal team and will have some great examples of helpful public comments for you! You can sign up to receive notification when we update our website on our homepage.
As a nonprofit in for the long haul to save the wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home, we depend on your donations to help us continue doing what we do. Please consider making a donation of any size to us: https://secure.everyaction.com/FbY2_tNxQU6Ehc9K2RsjZw2 Every little bit helps!
Thank you for your support and have a GREAT weekend!
Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home! We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control. Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans. We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
