Weekly recap

Hello and Happy Saturday!

We had a very long and busy week!

The week started with Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates uncovering MORE deception from Theodore Roosevelt National Park! https://chwha.org/2023/10/09/deliberate-deception/

150 people joined the Park on Tuesday so they could check off their last civic engagement box for this process.  The meeting was the same old story, same old song and dance.

The Park is hell bent on removing these horses from its boundaries and we here at Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates are doing everything we can to continue to advocate for these horses from every angle!

We had two different Calls to Action for you this week.  The first one asks that you contact Secretary Haaland.  We made it easy for you in a simple online form: https://secure.everyaction.com/5pWZb1KoLUO0EDlYwRHEMA2

The second came about yesterday after a conversation we had with North Dakota’s State Historic Preservation Office.  Please check out this simple Call to Action: https://chwha.org/2023/10/13/call-to-action-historic-preservation/

We have and will continue to create a series of blog posts that will help you write an impactful comment to Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  You will find our blogs on our website: https://chwha.org/blog/

Superintendent Angie Richman stated to the news this week that there would “likely” be an extension to this public comment period.  We will update you as soon as we hear about our extension request.  Until then,  the current deadline to comment is October 25, 2023.  You can read the Draft EA and submit your comments here: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/document.cfm?parkID=167&projectID=105110&documentID=132035

We have a list of documents as well as talking points for this public comment period on our website: https://chwha.org/save-the-trnp-wild-horses/.  This is our LAST chance to speak up for these iconic wild horses!  Please make sure you take the time to comment!

Our friend Heather at Save Our Wild Horses will be hosting a Zoom with us this Friday.  This event is FREE but she does ask that you email her to receive the link: kaya97524@yahoo.com

We had our own Horse Talk a few weeks ago with Matt Arnold, our lawyer from Eubanks and Associates.  That video is available on our YouTube channel.  You can view it here: https://youtu.be/QERohSyjpnY

We also wanted to say thank you to our friends at Equine Collaborative International for hosting us yesterday.  Barbara said that she will make the video available for us to share.

Please consider making a donation to help support our critical advocacy work: https://chwha.org/support-chwha/.  This fight is far from over and we have a LONG way to go.  We need your support to stay in this fight.

Thank you for your support and have a GREAT weekend!
