To answer a few questions we were flooded with yesterday:

• The  link we shared in yesterday’s article was FREE for a short time.  The article is now behind a paywall.  It currently costs $1 a week to subscribe to the Wall Street Journal and you can cancel at any time.  That $1 goes a LONG way in letting national media outlets like the Wall Street Journal know that there is an audience for stories about wild horses!
• We agree with everyone who wished there was more “meat” to the article – especially more on the historical and cultural aspects.  There was A LOT that Joe tried to get into one article and A LOT of people that he talked to.  We simply appreciate the exposure for the TRNP wild horses!  Joe has said that he will be doing a follow-up on this and asked us to keep in touch!

More importantly, we need to take advantage of this moment!  Please take a moment to read through and complete at our Calls to Action from yesterday!

Superintendent Richman was quoted in the article: “that by next year is expected to determine whether to cut the horses’ numbers by about 150 or remove them entirely”

They are NOT changing course AT ALL!  We need to keep fighting for these amazing horses, or they WILL be lost forever!

We know that Joe found us in part from reading Patrick Springer’s articles in the Fargo Forum.  We are asking that you PLEASE share this article to help show national media outlets like the Wall Street Journal that stories about wild horses (NOT just the TRNP wild horses) have an audience! 

CALL TO ACTION #2:

SEND EMAILS!

Superintendent Angie Richman and Regional Director Herbert Frost seem all to willing to “stay the course” and continue working toward their goal to eliminate ALL 200 wild horses from the boundaries of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Just under 20,000 people took the time to participate in the comment period that ended January 31, 2023 and ONLY 45 of those people agreed with the Park’s decision! 

If they are NOT willing to listen, maybe National Park Service Director Sams will be interested to know that what is happening here in our little corner of the world in Southwestern North Dakota is getting national attention in the media!
