Hello and Happy Friday to everyone!
We wanted to take a moment to thank our friends at Equine Collaborative International (ECI) for hosting us for their webinar yesterday. In case you missed it, they sent us the video and we uploaded it to our YouTube channel. You can view the video here: https://youtu.be/Emm5slCKvnQ
Thank you again to ECI for hosting this event, for our friend Scott Beckstead for moderating and for everyone who was on the zoom with us for your great questions!
We always have great conversations with Barbara and are grateful that she understands all of the hard work that Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates put into saving this herd. She knows that this was no easy feat! Barbara also understands the importance of why we have to keep pushing forward. We don’t get a lot of wins as wild horse advocates. We are thankful to her and ECI for continuing to support our critical advocacy work.
Now that the immediate threat to the freedom of the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park is over, our workload here at Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates has not gotten any lighter!
We are discussing some management concerns with Senator Hoeven’s office since after 2 years we still don’t have a proper management plan for the TRNP wild horses. We also have no idea HOW they will be managed. We will share updates as we get them. There will be some NEW Calls to Action coming soon, along with some additional updates on things we have been working on.
While we are waiting for the grant process, we do still need help and support. We just saved a herd of wild horses and there is a lot to celebrate, but it this is not a time to kick back and let things fall to the wayside.
We have a few immediate needs that we need your help with:
- We need to pay for our billboard for the next 3 months. We are thinking of getting some car magnets as a way to advertise in place of our billboard. Please let us know what you think of that idea. They can be sent to our followers who could have them on their cars acting as a mobile billboard all over the US instead of one stationary billboard. Comment on this blog, our social media pages, PM us or send an email to info@chwha.org and let us know if you are interested. If we get enough interest, we can get some quotes on what it will cost to move forward with this project.
- We need to update our brochures, signs, and banners. We have the opportunity to participate in some parades again this summer. This was a great way to spread the word about the TRNP horses last year and we think it can be effective again to let people know that this fight is far from over.
- We need to raise money to be able to pay for our Government Relations Team. We need to get started on the process to get long term federal protection for the TRNP wild horses. As we mentioned, we are seeking grants to help cover these costs, but that is a long process. We can’t lose the momentum we have gained these last couple of years.

One of our followers, Linda Wagner, has donated a 9×11 print of this image to us.

We will be raffling it off on May 16th. Every $10 you donate to Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates through May 15th gets you one entry in the drawing to win this print! You can learn more on Linda’s website here: https://www.lindawagnerart.com/chasing-wild-horses-giveaway
We also have our NEW T-shirt design available! All proceeds from this sale will go to help support our critical advocacy work. You can order your t-shirts through May 16th here: https://savetrnphorses.itemorder.com/shop/home/
We do need all of you in this for the long haul! We still have A LOT of work to do!
Thank you for your continued support.
