I was listening closely today to the Senate Confirmation Hearings for Secretary of the Interior nominee: Governor Doug Burgum.  At the very end – there it was!!!

Senator Hoeven:

“As you know I passed legislation to keep horses in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  I am a horse fan; you and your wife are horse fans. I just want to know that you will commit to the record to continue to work on that very important issue with me.”

Governor Burgum:

“Absolutely! For the record people show know that as popular as Senator Hoeven is in our state, the horses in the national park have even more followers on social media than he does!”

THIS runs in line with our conversation with Senator Hoeven’s office a few weeks ago – the horses in Theodore Roosevelt National Park REMAIN a priority for his office.

THANK YOU to Senator Hoeven for taking a moment during this very important hearing to get a commitment from our future Secretary of the Interior to continue to work with your office on this VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE!

THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF ALL OF YOU!

You have helped us keep the horses in the limelight.  We have brought the issues to Senator Hoeven’s office. 

We maintained great relationships with our state legislators.

AND

We maintained great relationships with Governor Doug Burgum’s office.

AND NOW

THAT man is getting ready to take over the office of Secretary of the Interior and he is on record promising to work with Senator Hoeven to make sure that wild horses ALWAYS remain in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. 

I CANNOT stress enough how continued relationships with your own elected officials are.  Even our very first meeting with our new Congresswoman Fedorchak’s office this week.

EVERYTHING MATTERS! Even when you may think it’s not!

TODAY the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park made their way to the US Senate Confirmation Hearings!

We still have work to do, as Senator Hoeven noted today. 

And Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates continues working hard to protect this historic herd of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.
