We made it through another week!
This week was a little easier now that our legislation was given a number! SB 2331 has officially been filed!
Our resolution also came out of legal counsel! It will be introduced on Monday! We should have a resolution number within a day or so after it is introduced!

“WHEREAS, there are significant concerns regarding the management of the wild horse herd by Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the long-term health and preservation of the herd”
I think that is my favorite line in the resolution!
Senator Boschee said once we have the number for the resolution, he will set up the committee meetings. He is trying to get the committee to hear both the bill and the resolution at the same time.

We do need EVERYONE to testify!
Now that we have our 2 pieces of legislation introduced, it will take ALL of us to help these pass!!!
Your testimony carries weight on the decision being made by the committee! Remember, if you plan to testify in person or virtually, please let us know. We are trying to streamline that process with our legislators.
We will update you here as soon as a hearing date has been set. Senator Boschee believes it will be the week of 2/3 or 2/10.

Giving Hearts Day is creeping up quick!
Mayor Decker of Dickinson officially proclaimed February 13, 2025, as Giving Hearts Day this week!
Members of our SWND Giving Hearts Day Collaborative met with him for the signing and of course took advantage of the chance for a photo op!
Giving Hearts Day is our biggest fundraiser of the year! We have raised $5,000 in matching funds which means that EVERY DOLLAR YOU DONATE for Giving Hearts Day is AUTOMATICALLY DOUBLED! EVERY $10 donation counts toward our Giving Hearts Day goal!

If you are local, our collaborative is working with Dickinson State University to spend part of the day in the student center. We will have tables set up on February 11th from 11-2, so you can get more information about the nonprofits in our area!
Also on February 11th, our collaborative will be hosting a Business After Hours event at Blue 42 upstairs in their 701 Social from 4-6 pm! There will be FREE appetizers and door prizes! A cash bar will also be available.
