Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is happy to help Kuntz Nokota Ranch in whatever ways we can! One way is to make it easy for you to make a tax deductible donation to Kuntz Nokota Ranch: https://secure.everyaction.com/UGvULXvTsE6mmGuUK5PEGw2

Donations made through the link above go directly to Frank to help him care for his Nokota horses – including much needed hay Frank needs for the herd this winter.

We hope you enjoy Frank’s daughter Christa’s words below:

This past summer was one of both blessings and challenges. Despite the wet conditions that made haying difficult and the constant equipment breakdowns that left us short on winter hay, the Nokota horses thrived. With access to two pastures, they enjoyed the freedom and space to grow strong and healthy. We were also fortunate to see several successful horse sales, helping place Nokotas into new homes where their legacy continues.

Now, as winter settles in, North Dakota has shown us its unpredictable side with wild weather swings. Each day feels like a never-ending adventure, full of uncertainty but also determination. At 74 years old, Frank Kuntz continues to fight cancer while still dedicating himself to preserving this rare and important breed. His commitment is unwavering, and his care for the horses remains at the heart of everything we do.

We are excited to announce a new partnership this season: a gracious couple has stepped forward to take on a small herd of Nokotas this winter. Their generosity will ease some of the workload for Frank and ensure these horses receive the care they need.

Winter feeding is no small task. At times, four bales of hay—or more—are required each day depending on the weather. Every bit of support helps us keep the horses nourished and strong. Donations can be sent through our wonderful supporters at Chasing Horses, who continue to stand beside us in this mission.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving and caring about the Nokota horses. Your support ensures that their story of resilience, heritage, and beauty carries on for generations to come.
