You are welcome to reference this letter in your own comment letter or use parts that resonate with your thoughts on the future of the wild horses at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We do ask that you do not send the letter in its entirety to them. They have received it through the portal, via email and will be getting a certified mail copy as well.

You can see that Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates was completely thorough in our response to the park’s announcement of their “proposed action” to eliminate ALL of the wild horses from the park. Our lawyers made sure of that!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is committed to advocating for a wild horse management plan and protection for these unique wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home!  We are fighting for a management plan that is guided by science especially when it comes to decisions regarding the removal of horses and the administration of birth control.  Many other wild horse management plans have proven to be successful with their science-based plans.  We are asking for the same for this amazing group of wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.

    Save and the preserve the wild horses in their habitat. I especially am watching Boomer. He had a rough start and inspite of that he is thriving. I paint many of these beautiful horses.

    I have been following this site for several years now, and although I am not one to comment very often, I feel very strongly about this possible, outrageous act by the park!!!! What on earth are they thinking??? Why are they proposing to eliminate one of the most important and beautiful tourist attractions in the entire state of North Dakota? Why aren’t more people (government officials) standing up in arms over this? I am a senior now, and not able to still travel as I would love to, but the horses would be the main reason for me to even think about travelling to North Dakota.
    Also, perhaps the park should get their stories straight…. they are not “domesticated” livestock!! Possibly at one time a few would escape from the ranches, but the initial idea of President
    Roosevelt to keep these horses in areas that were safely fenced from human vehicles, was a fabulous one. They are independent of all humans, no one is to help them in any way, shape or form, (no feed, water, veterinary aid….. nothing!!!) there are enough acres to support them and all the other wildlife!!!! They should be left alone…. let them be free for all future generations to see and love!!!

    Based on science? Sounds like a libtard to me. Who do you think you are? These horses are free and rely on themselves and nature. They do not need some group under the auspices of “science based” plans to remove and shove birth control down their throats. For goodness sake their wild and free and they should remain that way. They’re magnificent and draw so many people to come and witness them in their element. Who are you to interfere with their freedom? They live, they pro create and they die in the wild! Mind your own business!
