It’s Giving Tuesday!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Not just ANY Tuesday – GIVING TUESDAY!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates hopes that you will take a moment on this day of giving to support our critical advocacy work as we continue our Fight for the Spirit of the Badlands!

Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates is the only organization fighting for the proper management of the wild horses that call Theodore Roosevelt National Park home.  The ONLY way these horses will get the protection they need is through state and federal legislation!

We currently have legislation being reviewed by legal counsel for the 2025 North Dakota Legislative Session.  We are also working with our federal legislators to establish federal protection for this herd.

Federal protection will ensure that we NEVER have to go through the threat of removal of these horses as we have over the last two years!

Through our advocacy work, CHWHA was able to get the park to abandon their Environmental Assessment process that would have meant that EVERY horse in Theodore Roosevelt National Park would be removed. We told you then that our work was NOT finished!

In October, when the park gave us TWO WEEKS notice that they would be removing up to 15 horses and hand injecting EVERY mare with GonaCon – CHWHA was the ONLY organization that stood up against the park and fought FOR THE HORSES!  Because of our advocacy, NO horses were removed and only about 1/3 of the herd received hand injections of GonaCon (according to the park reports released to the public),

Our advocacy work has caught the attention of national newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post and even international news as The Times in London covered the plight of our historic wild horses!

The work Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates continues to do has also caught the attention of local magazines like Bis-Man Inc who featured our president, Christine Kman, in the August issue as A Woman You Should Know.  (you can read the article on page 64 here: https://issuu.com/fmspotlight/docs/bmi_aug24_1 )

Most recently, The Marquis Who’s Who in America, an organization celebrating its 125th year of recording Who’s Who in America, has offered to include CHWHA President Christine Kman for inclusion for the 2024-2025 year!  The plaque (pictured below) reads:

Christine M Kman
has hereby been approved as a subject of biographical record in
Who’s Who in America

Inclusion, which is limited to individuals who possess professional integrity, demonstrate outstanding achievement in their fields and have made innumerable contributions to society as a whole.

As wonderful as these recognitions are, none of the success we are realizing through our critical advocacy work would be possible without every single one of you!

We hope this Giving Tuesday that we can continue to count on your support as we continue to fight for the proper management of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park wild horses, work with other organizations to make a difference for wild horses everywhere and help educate our followers to help them be the best advocates they can be.

  1. […] Every little thing we are doing IS making a difference.  The biggest thing we are NOT doing is remaining silent!  These horses need us to be their voices if they are going to continue to be part of the landscape of Theodore Roosevelt National Park for generations to come.    In case you missed it, we went through some of the recognition CHWHA has received in yesterday’s blog: https://chwha.org/2024/12/03/its-giving-tuesday/ […]
