Today’s Hearing

Hello again!

As you know, TODAY, the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee voted on S1377 – The Theodore Roosevelt National Park Wild Horse Protection Act.

S1377 was voted on and passed along with a bulk of other bills “As Amended/If Amended.” There was no discussion in the committee that explained any amendments to S1377, if there were any.

The bill DID pass the committee and will now go to the full Senate floor for a vote.

We did speak to Senator Hoeven’s office last night. It was about 7 pm Eastern time when we received our call. At that time, they were still working with the Subcommittee on National Parks to see which amendments were within the realm of possibility. Hoeven’s office did confirm that the committee received our amendment requests, as well as the emails from each and every one of you.

We will update you as soon as we have any additional information.

We do want to say THANK YOU to each one of you who took time to send emails to the committee. We are also thankful to the 27 different groups and organizations that stood with us in requesting the amendments that would strengthen this legislation for these historic wild horses.

Over the last week, because of all of you and our 27 partners, OVER 15,000 emails were sent to Senator Hoeven and members of the Subcommittee on National Parks. That was a pretty amazing number of emails in such a short amount of time! Your voice matters! You exercised your civic duty and didn’t remain silent when these horses needed your voice the most!

I can’t imagine that our LOUD voices were not heard!

I am very proud to stand tall with each one of you!
