Hello and Happy Thursday!
It has been another busy week!
We are working on finalizing our plans for our July 2-4th event! This event will take place at Theodore Roosevelt National Park! The Bureau of Land Management will be touring the US with a horse named Freedom and a Burro named Liberty as part of the America 250 celebration. Freedom and Liberty will be visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park July 2-4th and Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates has been invited to participate in the event!
We are working hard on getting some fun and education crafts for kids along with educational materials to share with the public!
Theodore Roosevelt National Park will also be participating with their own programming, and we are hearing that the mule team from the Forest Service may be joining as well! We will update you with details on events for the day as we finalize them!
You can learn more about Freedom and Liberty here: https://www.blm.gov/programs/wild-horse-and-burro/freedom-and-liberty
We are working hard to get donations from local businesses to help make this event a success! We also need your help! If you are able to make a tax-deductible donation to help offset the costs for this event, you can make your donation, specifically for this event here: https://secure.everyaction.com/0gcZkMjeAkmt_zfGj9gnvQ2
Donations can also be made through PayPal here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=XNYNCNVLTULGC
We are planning to have crafts and educational materials for at least 500 kids/people over the course of the 3-day event! Your donation will go a long way to help us make the most of this event!
To help offset the costs of this event, we will be holding a Spring Silent Auction that will begin on May 22nd at 6 am Mountain Time and will end on May 31st at 8 pm Mountain Time. We still have plenty of items to add to the auction, but you can view the items we have listed so far here: https://chwha.betterworld.org/auctions/chasing-horses-wild-horse-advoca
You can also make your own donation to our auction here: https://chwha.betterworld.org/donate-an-item
We also welcome you to email us images and descriptions of your item(s) and we can add them to the website for you!
We think this will be a GREAT way to help educate the public about our wild horses and burros and our work for the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park! We are excited to be partnering with Theodore Roosevelt National Park for this event!
In our last visit with Superintendent Daniels, she said, “We really are writing a whole new story!” We agree and are happy to be moving forward in a positive way with the new management at the park!
Thank you for your continued support and have a great weekend!
